The Rescue Medal on Ribbon is awarded to persons who have rescued people from mortal danger at their own risk or averted a serious danger to the general public. If the rescuer's life was in slight danger or the action was unsuccessful, a public commendation may be awarded.

If you would like to propose a commendation for yourself or another person, please provide a detailed description of the type of rescue - if possible backed up by confirmation from third parties, possibly from newspaper reports. Please note, however, that you are not legally entitled to a medal, plaque or certificate.
